VOLA defined modern tap design in 1968, when Arne Jacobsen created
the first VOLA taps for the National Bank of Denmark.
One of the earliest iconic models, the VOLA KV1, was added to MoMA’s permanent design collection as early as 1974 and is currently exhibited at Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen.
For over 50 years, VOLA has been celebrated for its distinctive form, exceptional quality, and timeless simplicity. From the beginning, VOLA was designed as a modular system, allowing individual components to be combined in countless ways to create unique and enduring solutions. Now, VOLA introduces another innovation in that same design tradition — a kitchen tap offering five different water types in a single, elegant form.
It should be simple to use water directly from the tap. That is why the design of VOLA KV5 ensures it can always be used as a conventional mixer tap with hot and cold water. This allows children in the household or guests to operate the tap easily, without any special instructions. For safety reasons, access to boiling water requires a separate operation, preventing children from accidentally activating the boiling water function.
The right-hand handle selects between four water options: boiling water, filtered cold water, chilled still water, and chilled sparkling water.
The left-hand handle functions as a traditional cold/hot water mixer and can be used effortlessly by everyone in the household — including guests — without any special instructions.
We launch new products only when there is a genuine need — and only when every detail meets our standards for perfection. Designed to last both inside and out, our products are created with longevity and timeless aesthetics in mind. This principle has always been — and will remain — central to the way we think, design and manufacture.
Often imitated, never surpassed. The same holds true for our latest addition: the KV5 kitchen tap, offering five different water types from a single source.
Access to high-quality drinking water is something we value greatly — and KV5 makes it easier to enjoy that quality directly from your tap. Rather than relying on bottled water transported over long distances, KV5 allows you to draw the water you need, when you need it — still or sparkling, hot or cold — all from one beautifully crafted tap.
Alongside the familiar VOLA mixer handle for cold/hot water, the second handle controls the four alternative water types.
Boiling water (red light)
Turn handle to the left, press down, release, press again and hold to dispense. Release to stop.
Cold filtered water (white light)
Handle pointing forward. Press once to start, once again to stop.
Chilled water (blue light)
Turn handle 30° to the right. Press to start, press again to stop.
Chilled sparkling water (green light)
Turn handle 60° to the right. Press to start, press again to stop.
We have the privilege of being able to drink water directly from the tap — and of exceptionally high quality. It makes far more sense to tap water directly than to drink bottled water that has been transported hundreds of kilometres.

VOLA’s distinctive design language was established in 1968. Its simplicity and perfect proportions have made it timeless — valued by generations around the world.
In developing our latest product, the KV5, we worked with careful precision to achieve a balanced form with ideal proportions. The result is a design that brings calm, elegance and character to any space — and stands the test of time.
Every design detail has been considered. Due to the height of the spout, the spacing between spout and handles was increased to ensure visual harmony. The design of the handles communicates their function — with the tilt handle symbolising the traditional cold/hot water mixer.
The KV5 was designed with carefully considered proportions — to bring calm, balance and enduring presence to its surroundings.

Every VOLA product is available in a wide range of colours and finishes — including our exclusive colour series — offering limitless creative potential. Whether the goal is to blend in or stand out, the design can be tailored to suit the surrounding interior.
VOLA KV5 is available in all the VOLA colours and finishes.
We offer 15 different colours, providing a wide range of expressions and combination options that suit any type of space and interior style. Each product is hand-painted at our factory in Horsens, Denmark, and the colours are available for all product configurations.

To ensure high-quality drinking water — delivered through a beautifully crafted kitchen tap — we partnered with a Swiss supplier to develop a technical solution that meets both our quality standards and our design principles.
All technical components are housed in a compact, under-counter unit that takes up minimal space and is exceptionally user-friendly. For example, the CO₂ cylinder can be replaced simply by lifting a lid. A dedicated KV5 app is also available to alert users when the filter needs replacing.
